Blanca Viñas explora espacios ambiguos, frágiles e irreconocibles a través de la fotografía analógica. El carácter lúdico de la toma fotográfica mediante la incorporación del accidente y del azar a través de la imposición de normas y constricciones forman parte de su proceso de creación. Por ello, su obra especula sobre la relación espacio-tiempo, pone bajo sospecha las leyes de la gravedad y recupera la importancia del inconsciente. En definitiva, busca estimular miradas distintas -y, por lo tanto, críticas- sobre lo que acontece.

Su libro Tratado de fotografía desobediente nace con la intención de proponer otras formas de hacer fotografías sin voluntad de convencer a nadie. Es una respuesta a observaciones que ha ido escuchando durante muchos años “demasiado estético”, “te falta contenido”, “¿qué quieres contar?”, “el efecto no tiene que ser el protagonista, tiene que ser un elemento más”, “veo una rigidez formal en tu planteamiento fotográfico” o “a la abstracción ya llegarás cuando seas mayor”, apreciaciones que de alguna manera ponían en duda el proceso experimental como un valor en sí mismo.

Su libro es por tanto un antimanual, un inventario de procesos analógicos, rebeldes, libres y poco convencionales que plantea alternativas fotográficas. Propone metodologías anárquicas que cuestionan las limitaciones y las normas que se han impuesto dentro de esta disciplina. Encuadrar horizontes inclinados, usar carretes caducados, utilizar filtros de colores sin criterio, forzar entradas de luz o exponer la película más de una vez son algunas de las intervenciones que imposibilitan la existencia de esta imagen técnicamente perfecta y hermética que han aconsejado los manuales.

Blanca Viñas explores ambiguous, fragile and unrecognizable spaces through analogue photography. The playful nature of taking snaps incorporating technical and random accidents through the imposition of norms and constrictions are a big part of her creative process. That's why her work speculates on the relationship between time and space, questions the laws of gravity, and reclaims the importance of the subconscious. Ultimately, it aims to estimulate different views - and, therefore, critical thinking.

Her book "Tratado de fotografía desobediente" is born out of the intention to propose other ways of making photographs without the will to convince anyone. It is a response to observations she has been hearing over the years: "too aesthetic", "it lacks content", "what are you trying to say?", "the effect should not be the protagonsit, but an added element", "I see a formal rigidity in your photographic approach", or "you will use abstraction once you are older"; observations which, in a way, question the experimental process as a value in itself.

Consequently, her book is an anti-handbook, an inventory of analogue processes, rebelious, free and unconventional, which exemplifies photographic alternatives. It puts forward anarchic methodologies which question the limitations and norms that have been imposed within this discipline. Framing slanted horizons, using expired film, using colour filters without any criteria, forcing light entries or doing more than one exposure, are some of the interventions that make the existence of the perfect and hermetic image impossible.
