He tenido que recorrer medio mundo para entender que lo que quería fotografiar está alrededor de mi casa. Mi trabajo gira entorno a tres grandes ejes temáticos: la identidad, el paso del tiempo y la relación del ser humano con la fe y la naturaleza, caracterizándose por la voluntad de construir un discurso poético conceptual donde sublimar lo cotidiano para desvelar realidades más allá de las apariencias, cuestionando así los límites entre realidad y ficción. Me interesan tanto la toma de imágenes como su reinterpretación a través del proceso de edición.
Cursé Humanidades en la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), dirección cinematográfica en la ya desaparecida Escola de Cinema Independent de Barcelona (ECIB) y fotografía en el Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC) donde ahora imparto clases. También doy talleres de narrativa visual y creación de fotolibros en mi estudio. He escrito y dirigido varios cortometrajes, he publicado siete fotolibros y una novela, y he expuesto mi trabajo en numerosas ocasiones. Mi obra ha recibido diversos premios internacionales y forma parte de colecciones públicas y privadas como la Tate Modern de Londres, el Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, el MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya), la Fundació Banc de Sabadell, FotoColectania y la Fundación Carmen & Lluís Bassat, entre otras. Soy co-fundador y editor de la editorial independiente especializada en fotolibros Ediciones Posibles, con sede en la misma ciudad. En 2001 formé junto a Salva Rey el dúo musical The Pinker Tones, activo hasta el 2020, con quien publiqué numerosos discos, libros y bandas sonoras, y recorrí los cinco continentes tocando en directo.

I had to travel halfway around the world to understand that what I wanted to photograph was around my house. My work revolves around three main themes: identity, the passage of time and man's relationship with faith and nature, characterised by the desire to construct a poetic conceptual discourse where I sublimate the everyday to reveal realities beyond appearances, thus questioning the limits between reality and fiction. I am interested in both the taking of images and their reinterpretation through the editing process.
I studied Humanities at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Cinema at the Escola de Cinema Independent de Barcelona (ECIB) and Photography at the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC) where I am a teacher now. I also give visual narrative and photobook creation workshops in my studio. I have written and directed various short films, have published seven photobooks and a novel, and have exhibited my work in many occasions. My work has been awarded in a number of occasions, and is part of public and private collections as the Tate Modern of London, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the MNAC collection (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya), Banc de Sabadell Foundation, FotoColectania, and the Carmen & Lluís Bassat Foundation, among others. I’m co-founder and editor at Ediciones Posibles, an independent publishing house based in the same city. In 2001 I formed with Salva Rey the musical duo The Pinker Tones, active until 2020, with whom I published numerous albums, books and soundtracks, and toured the five continents playing live.
